So what makes WallabyBags so special?

There are a lot of neat features of the patent pending WallabyBags that set them apart from other similar items available. The most obvious is their reusability, putting them miles ahead of plastic sandwich bags like Ziploc and Glad bags as far as their ecological foot print. The second most important thing about WallabyBags is the materials used. I am committed to providing a safe, easy, and convinient product. Right now WallabyBags are laminated with polyurethane. In the near future, they will be laminated in ethylen vynel acetate, which is lead free, pba free, non reactive, and does not leach pthalates. Many home made sandwich baggies available are made of cotton fabric. Great for holding chips, but I wouldn't want a peanutbutter sandwich or my apple slices in one. I also stay away from PVC, which is the plastic layer in a popular sandwich wrap.

Then there are the design features that make WallabyBags truley unique. With a flip over top, there are no snaps to wear out the material, and no velcro to catch yucky crumbs. These are the only baggies with a flat standup bottom. This provides extra room for your sandwich so it doesn't get squished as it's put into the bag, and allows for easy snacking on chips or crackers without spilling. Super cute prints look great in your lunch bag, and everyone will want to know where you got those great sandwich baggies.

WallabyBags.com Grand Opening

Welcome to WallabyBags.com! What is a WallabyBag you ask? And why do I need one? Well let me tell you. WallabyBags are a reusable alternative to disposable plastic sandwich and snack bags.

Here are some interesting facts about plastic bag consumption and waste:
~According to the EPA, the U.S. consumes over 380 billion plastic bags, sacks and wraps each year.
~World wide, an estimated 4 billion plastic bags end up as litter each year
~Plastic bags cause over 100,000 sea turtle and other marine animal deaths every year when animals mistake them for food.

Many people are doing their part by switching to reusable grocery bags. I say take that thought one step further and use reusable sandwich baggies too. As with most reusable items, they pay for themselves quickly in savings from not having to buy plastic baggies, and the impact they have on helping the environment is priceless.

WallabyBags are the perfect solution to the sandwich bag problem. With tons of great colorful prints to choose from, packing a lunch has never been this much fun. They're laminated on the inside with polyurethane, which is food safe and widely used in the food industry from food manufacturing and packaging to food storage. They are water proof, so they're perfect for keeping your sandwich fresh, as well as packing messier take-alongs like fruit. They feature a flat bottom that allows them to stand up by themselves for easy snacking. And the best part? They are machine washable and dry-able. No more plastic baggies stuck over the ends of spoons taking up space in your dish drainer or on your counter.

I am so excited to bring these to you, and I hope you're excited too. Let's start saving the environment, one sandwich at a time!
